Air Permeability

Another physical property of the foam is air permeability. The value of air transported in one minute in liters is expressed as air permeability. To test this property, the sample is placed in a measuring cell of 50mm * 50mm * 25mm dimensions and air is drawn into it under pressure until it reaches 1.23 mbar. Underpressure is used to measure how much air volume passes through the foam sample per minute. If the foam is closed (cell structure), the air flow will be low; this indicates that the performance of the foam is not good. Especially if foams to be used as pillows or mattresses are closed, the user will sweat a lot during use. In the furniture sector, especially when used as cushions, softening and collapsing can occur in a short time.
